Josip Batinić, PhD, Data Engineer
Josip Batinić is a Data Engineer at the Swiss Art Research Infrastructure (SARI), University of Zurich.
He holds a PhD in Digital Humanities from the University of Antwerp (2024), where he developed digital resources for exploring and analysing James Joyce's correspondence using computational methods. He has previously worked as a research assistant on the Access to Multimodal Spoken Language Corpora (ZuMult) project (2018-2020) at the Leibniz-Institute for the German Language (IDS).
Josip Batiniċ also completed an MA in Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam (2015), specialising on the topic of digital comics, which remains one of his main research interests. His broader areas of interest also include digital editing and publishing, as well as employing digital tools and methods to address questions in the Humanities.
