Announcing CPRo 2.0: Creative Process Representation Ontology (CPRo)

We are delighted to announce the release of version 2.0 of the Creative Process Representation Ontology (CPRo)—an ontology expanding the expressivity and accuracy of recording of creative processes for historical research.

For a comprehensive overview of the ontology’s development and its applications, refer to our detailed documentation: Creative Process Representation Ontology (CPRo)

Built on and extending the core logic of the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CIDOC - CRM) and the Library Reference Model (LRMoo), CPRo 2.0 introduces a set of process modelling classes that extends the creation event logic of these ontologies to document the different stages of creation from idea to realization.

This release has been made possible through the Open Research Data Environment for the Arts (ORDEA) and was realized through the collaborative efforts of Takin.solutions and the Swiss Art Research Infrastructure (SARI). We extend our gratitude to all contributors and supporting organizations for their invaluable input and dedication.

We invite researchers, practitioners, and institutions in the cultural heritage and historical research domains to explore CPRo 2.0 and consider its integration into their semantic modeling practices.
