Stephanie Santschi, MA, Project Coordinator BSO

Stephanie Santschi is Project Coordinator of »Bilder der Schweiz Online (BSO)«, Swiss Art Research Infrastructure (SARI) and Ph.D. candidate at the Department for East Asian Art History at University of Zurich, where she researches painting manuals by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.

She received her M.A. in Museum Studies from the University of East Anglia (2016), a B.A. in East Asian Art History, Japanese Studies and Education from UZH (2015); and successfully graduated as Nippon Foundation Fellow from the at Stanford IUC Advanced Japanese Language Studies program (2020). She previously collaborated with ResearchSpace in developing a semantic platform for Hokusai research for "Late Hokusai: Thought, Technique, Society” as Technical Research Assistant at the British Museum (2016-19). Her research interests centre on the tradition and reality of knowledge transmission, both historically and within the scope of Digital Humanities; and the semantic modelling of mechanically reproducible art.
